Our café on Appletongate, Newark on Trent.

Thyme Out café can be found at 15 Appletongate, Newark, just across the road from the Palace Theatre.

Our aim is to attract people wanting to have a decent lunch break or somewhere to take the children for a bite to eat.

Those who have limited time available can even telephone their order through in advance and reserve a table to ensure their lunch is ready on arrival.

We share a passion for quality home-cooked food, freshly prepared and with an emphasis on excellent service in a comfortable, smoke free environment.

Our menu offers a selection of freshly prepared meals and snacks, along with a variety of daily specials.

Our breakfast dishes include a breakfast muffin and a big breakfast with vegetarian options. Homemade cakes and desserts are also on the menu for a morning treat or afternoon tea.

Light lunches include jacket potatoes with various toppings and large freshly baked baguettes with a choice of fillings. Main meals also include homemade lasagne and shepherds pie, all of which are served with a selection of side orders.

We offer a range of daily specials from Sirloin steak to Leek and Cheshire Cheese crumble. We are keen to provide a range of quality vegetarian dishes that are apart from the norm usually found in cafes. Our Leek and Cheshire Cheese crumble is fast becoming one of our top sellers and it is not just vegetarians that order this dish!

Our steaks – sirloin, rump, pork and lamb, are provided fresh to order from Kevin Porter. We also sell top quality home-baked meat pies, provided by The Barn Bacon Company.

For those going to the theatre, Thyme Out remains open until 7.30pm on selected theatre nights (subject to confirmed bookings).

Pre-book a table and bring your own wine (no corkage charge) to accompany your meal. Your table will be well laid for dinner with linen tablecloths, wine glasses and best cutlery. Why not make it part of your evening and enjoy a quality home-cooked meal in a friendly and relaxing atmosphere?
